A gardener
is a person who decides what plants will grow in a given
place.
Anyone can have a garden. A garden can be a
foot of land, plants on porches, in window boxes, or in the
home. Wherever there is sunlight, plants can grow. Your
inspiration may be plants grown in coffe cans or portable
flower boxes or it may be an acre of lawn, flowers, and
trees.
Satisfaction for a gardener does not depend on
the area or on the cost or rarity of the plants. Instead, it
depends on the person. The gardener loves plants and nature and
cultivates them happily.
When we think about gardens, we forget about
what nature has given us. Plants that grow in wild abandon are
considered weeds. But nature has provided them to us for our
pleasure. Wherever there is a piece of uncovered land, unless it is well trodden and worn,
nature will produce a plant. Though we may think of these
plants as weeds, they attract insects and moves nature
along its normal course.
Gardens have always been popular. Gardens are
featured in a number of settings. In urban areas where there
are a lot of concrete and tall glass buildings, there is
usually a planter box or two out front with a shrub or tree and
flowers. When you walk inside, there may be planter boxes
filled with flowers and a shrub or tree. Plants will be in offices.
Government buildings, large estates, and small
family homes will have flowers, vines, shrubs, trees, and a
lawn to add to its beauty. Gardens are also features in
religious settings.
More and more people are starting a garden.
Most of us, especially those of us who live in apartments,
try our hand at indoor plants. Sometimes, we start
container gardens on our terraces or patios. When we move
into our first homes, we want it to have curb appeal and
so we create the lawn and plant areas of flowers and
shrubs.
Gardening is relaxing and it is healthy. It
requires physical activity which is important to help stem the
rising tide of obesity and Type II diabetes. It also allows us
to enjoy nature and to see its beauty. It gives us a warm glow
when the seeds we planted sprout into lovely, decorative
ornaments in our yard.
To start your hobby as a
gardener, you will need tools. You can
purchase what you need on the Internet.
Gardening is not easy. You have to take care of
the flowers, trees, and shrubs you plant. You have to nurture
them, making sure they get what they need to grow and be
healthy. Whether you are new to gardening or an experienced
gardener, the beauty of what you have created will always fill
you with awe and wonder.
