Herb Garden

Herbs are used as supplements in many diet and other health supplements as well as for cooking to give our food flavor. You can grow your own herb garden.

Herbs have growing seasons just as flowers: annual, biennials, and perennials. You need to decide where you are going plant your herb garden. Will it be a window box in the kitchen? Are you planning to set aside outdoor space? Will you plant them in herb containers or a single pot for each?

Some herbs can be invasive. So if you are planning to put them in your outside garden, do a little research upfront. You should research particular herbs you want to grow so that you can be sure you are planting them correctly and that you know how often to water them and what nutrients they will need.

Planting an herb garden outside takes planning just as it does with a garden of flowering plants. You need to decide how big it will be and if it will get the correct amount of sunlight. You need to make sure you allow enough room for the root growth of each type. You should plant the tall ones in back.
