Fruit Trees

 

Apple

Apple trees are easy to grow and thrive in many regions. There are a number of varieties to choose from.

Apricot

Apricot trees bloom in early spring. The fruit is delicious and the trees themselves can provide shade once the fruit is picked.

Aprium

The fruit from this tree is a cross between and apricot and a plum. The fruit is sweet and usually ripens in June.

Cherry

Cherry trees grow well in most regions. They should be planted in a sunny location that has well-drained soil and good air circulation. The harvest period is June to July.

Crabapple

This tree needs full sun. It has beautiful blooms in spring. Crabapples are smaller than apples and the trees can bear fruit in the summer and fall.

Nectarine

Nectarines are smaller than peaches and do not have the fuzz. Nectarines are either yellow or white-fleshed.

Peach

These trees require a lot of maintenance to keep it free from pests. To bear fruit, the flowers and buds need to be protected from spring frosts.

Pear

Most pears are harvested while they are still green. The trees need full sun. There are several varieties from which to choose.

Plum

There are a variety of plum trees. Your choice should be determined by whether you want plums to eat or plums for cooking and the space you have.

Pluot

The fruit is a cross of plum and apricot. The fruit is sweet and there are several varieties from which to choose.

Prune

The fruit of the tree is sweet and comes in small and large sizes.
